Photography
Photography helps me capture better images by teaching me how to control light and focus creatively. Considering variables like ISO, shutter speed, and aperture help me select the aspects of an image to emphasize, such as highlighting distinct details or producing a hazy, soft background. It’s about understanding how to capture a moment in time or suggest movement through deliberate decisions, all the while ensuring that the image’s lighting and general atmosphere complement the narrative I wish to portray. With the use of these abilities, I can make every picture more visually appealing and expressive.

Graphic Design
I can add artistic features to my images, such as borders and textures, by using graphic design software like Photoshop. With the help of these tools, I can take more control over the final product, improve the composition, and draw attention to specific areas of the picture. My ability to manipulate layers and other elements allows me to take an ordinary shot and turn it into something more refined and visually appealing.

Discovery begins here!
“In this course students explore photography as a means of understanding and interacting with both the world and the inner self. We will emphasize a balance of technical skills, exploration of personal vision, and development of critical thinking and vocabulary relating to photography. Beginning students will learn how to use analogue and digital cameras, to use basic studio lighting equipment, and to print their own photographic work. Additionally, students will learn to develop a portfolio as an ongoing process that requires informed and critical decision making to assemble a body of work. Collectively we will critique, analyze, give feedback on work, and discuss readings that are pertinent to the production of images in contemporary times.” -ARTS 139 https://www.carleton.edu/art/courses/
